Saturday morning group training runs - Groups will meet to run together on Saturdays at 8:00 am at the Brevard College Gym. All levels of experience welcome!

Help young families with a parent diagnosed with a life-threatening illness by raising funds - A personal webpage (click here for info) is immediately available after you register. You can personalize this page with a message and picture and send the link to your family, friends, and coworkers. They can donate on your page - on behalf of your involvement in the Legacy Run! All funds raised will support families in Legacy Retreats®.

Legacy Run Family Raffle - All registered participants will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the Legacy Run Family Raffle. The Legacy Run Family Raffle features gift certificates from local Brevard businesses and will allow a family to make memories together as they dine, shop, and enjoy entertainment and activities throughout the heart of Brevard. Winner will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on Race day, April 27, 2013.

Legacy Run

April 27, 7:30 am, at Brevard College, Brevard, NC

Race day registration is available - 6 am - 7:15 am

The Legacy Run will feature a 15K, 5K and Kids' 1/2 mile Fun Run. The 15K course will run along parts of the French Broad River and feature views of the beautiful Western NC mountains. The family-friendly event will start and finish at Brevard College and will feature entertainment provided by Class & Sound Entertainment-DJ Dogg and food provided by Food Matters Market.

The Legacy Run is organized by Inheritance of Hope, a national non-profit organization based in Pisgah Forest, NC, that serves children and families across the U.S. that have a parent with a life-threatening illness. On or before April 26, 2013: $50 - 15K; $30 - 5K
Race Day registration: $55 - 15K; $35 - 5K
Kids' 1/2 Mile Fun Run: $10

Bib Pick-up:

Pick up your bib, Friday, April 26, before or after the Pasta Dinner at Brevard Community Church, 417 Morris Road, Brevard, NC - between 5 - 6:00 pm and 7 - 8:00 pm. Receive a prize for picking up your bib before race day!
Bibs will also be distributed starting at 6:00 am on race day, April 27
All participants are required to sign a waiver in order to pick up their bib
Children under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian

Pasta Dinner:

Runners and their guests are invited to join us at the Pasta Dinner hosted by Inheritance of Hope on Friday, April 26, 6:00 pm, at Brevard Community Church, 417 Morris Road, Brevard, NC

T-Shirts:

All participants will receive an Inheritance of Hope cotton t-shirt
Raise or donate at least $100 (in addition to your registration fee) and receive an official Inheritance of Hope New Balance moisture-wicking, performance race day shirt

Course:

The Legacy Run 15K, 5K, and Kids' 1/2 mile Fun Run will start and finish at the main entrance of Brevard College in Brevard, NC. All races are "stroller-friendly."

Water stations along the course
Pre and Post Race food provided by Food Matters Market for all registered participants
15K course: Run along parts of the French Broad River and experience the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. You must maintain a maximum 16.5 minute/mile pace to complete the 15K course.
5K course: Runners and walkers will enjoy this easy, mostly flat and downhill course through downtown Brevard.
Kids' 1/2 Mile Fun Run: Kids will enjoy a 1/2 mile loop around the main part of the Brevard College campus, allowing them to cross the actual race-day finish line as the crowd cheers them on!
